My Story

Five years ago, I could sense my stress levels at an all time high, I could feel palpitations, heartburn, I couldn’t sleep well, I would snap at my family, felt like I was on the edge all the time. My anxiety levels were through the roof and I was completely exhausted. I started having breakdowns where I would cry for a few hours at a time.

This was the time when I felt I was losing control over my life and as if my own mental health was slipping. I realized that I was completely burnt out and I finally decided to take a break from everything that was putting me in that dark place. I quit my job and I took a mental break for a month from everything. I caught up on sleep, read a little, caught up on some shows that could uplift me, spent time with my family. I had nightmares about things that used to stress me out even a month after this. But gradually things got better.

Once I quit, I had exhaustion crashing at me in waves. It felt funny that now that I should have felt relaxed, I felt more exhausted than ever. I decided to study the concept of burnout to understand what was really happening to me.  I undertook courses, read up extensively on burn out, its symptoms, its causes but felt that nothing captured it in a way that could have helped me spot the signs early.

I realized that there were others like me, slowly burning out, losing motivation, feeling more disconnected, pushing themselves harder running on fumes. I understood that burnout was something people understood only after they crashed. I wanted to prevent this and that's when I decided to create a signature burnout assessment. A 14 question assessment that helps people understand if they are doing well, struggling, running on fumes or are completely burnt out. The intention, to not just help people recover from burnout but also help people understand that they might be slipping and that there are things they can do to prevent themselves from crashing.

Eventually my signature program called BURP - Burnout Recovery Program was born, for those on the burnout spectrum to know exactly what to do to heal and recover. So if you are someone who is in a corporate job and constantly feels exhausted and overwhelmed or a founder who is wearing too many hats to stay afloat, take the assessment and let talk!
